SMATCO electric motor driven winches are designed to provide anchor handling and towing capabilities to offshore operators working in all water depths, inculding ultra deep waters worldwide. These "Mega" winches are powered by DC electric motors and SCR controls. Optional AC variable frequency electric motors and controls are also available.
The SMATCO electric motor driven winch series is furnished with a dual water-cooled disc brake and Parmac brake system for dynamic braking. The water-cooled disc brake controls the load from zero speed to a speed at which the Parmac controls the load to maximum dynamic brake |

capacity. The winches are also furnished with static, self-energizing band type brakes. All drums are supplied with jaw-type clutches for independent operation.
All winches are available in single, double, triple or four drum configurations and wildcats available in customer designed chain sizes. The winches are furnished with remote controls. Optional levelwinds can be furnished for controlled spooling if required.
