HydroTech FutureTap™ Flanges are installed at anticipated future tie-in points when laying a new pipeline. The unique cast FutureTap™ Flange provides a standard ANSI or MSS SP44 flange interface and incorporates an integral steel membrane for pressure containment prior to the hot tap. The membrane has the same cylindrical profile as a pipeline, to facilitate efficient hot-tap cutter operations. For the tie-in, a standard valve is installed, and the membrane is removed using conventional hot-tapping equipment. Before and after tapping, the connection provides complete metal sealing.
• Reduces upfront hardware cost by eliminating the ball valve, check valve and blind flange • Reduces installation cost because of lighter weight, less jetting and burial • Improves pipeline integrity by eliminating leak paths and valve maintenance/operation problems • Minimum profile reduces anchor or cable snag potential
FutureTap™ Flanges are designed in accordance with ASME criteria. They can be supplied to match any standard pipeline size or pressure class and can be manufactured with RTJ, RF, or diverless hub profiles.
FutureTap™ Flanges meet the requirements of API 6H and are designed in accordance with ASME Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 2, unless otherwise specified and applicable sections of the flange specification to which it will mate.
