Hydraulic Conductor Jacks

With a jacking capacity of 235 tons, hydraulic Conductor Jacks can run or pull an entire conductor string, using only a small platform crane to add or remove sections at the surface. Each jack comprises two tandem External Grippers linked by hydraulic cylinders. To pull a conductor, the top gripper closes on the pipe and the hydraulic cylinders are stroked (approximately 6 ft) to lift the string. The lower unit is then actuated to grip the string, the upper gripper is opened, and the cylinders are retracted to repeat the cycle.

Conductor Jacks improve safety and significantly reduce costs compared to conventional handling methods. You save the material and labor cost of weld-on pad eyes and stops, you save derrick vessel or drilling rig time to cut them off, and the time and cost of welding them on again when the piling or conductor has to be recovered. By eliminating slings and shackles, rigging to and rigging from a pile or conductor section is much safer and quicker. Opposed-wedge design prevents accidental release.
