The HydroClamp™ body includes pressure fittings that serve as test ports or vent ports. When a leaking gas pipeline is being repaired, the fittings can be opened so that the HydroClamp™ can be installed and pre-tightened without internal pressure build-up. Second, when repairing a dented or buckled pipeline that is not leaking, the fittings can be used as fill and vent ports when the annular space between the clamp and pipe is grouted.
The diverless HydroClamp™ repair fitting incorporates rigging points for interfacing with a heave-compensating buoy or other lifting device, as well as alignment saddles for landing and positioning the clamp on the pipeline. The body bolts are designed so that an ROV can quickly engage and make up the fasteners using a low-torque or impact-type wrench. Final tightening is accomplished using a hydraulic torque wrench or stud tensioner. See installation sequence. All setting functions are hydraulic and are operated via an ROV panel with API 17D interfaces.
A surface support vessel that can lift the clamp and lower it to the seafloor and support ROV operations work-class, remotely-operated vehicle (ROV): • 100 hp minimum • capable of maintaining position in the specified currents • equipped to provide bi-directional hydraulic flow of 4 gpm @ 3000 psig • equipped with wide-angle and close-up monitoring and recording systems
HydroTech™ Diverless Pipeline Lifting Frames to lift the pipeline off the seafloor (or the installation contractor can elect to excavate under and around the pipeline)
HydroClamp™ fittings range in size and pressure rating from 3-inch API/10,000 to 48-inch/ANSI 600. Standard sealing length is one pipe diameter; other sealing lengths can be designed.
HydroClamp™ fittings meet the requirements of API 6H and are designed in accordance with ASME Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 2, unless otherwise specified. Anodes for cathodic protection are designed for a 20-year service life in accordance with DNV Rules for Submarine Pipeline Systems. Diverless HydroClamp™ fittings can also be supplied to meet the requirements of other recognized design codes.
