The Skagit Model JUW-series Jack-Up mooring winch is a single-drum, underwiding unit designed specifically for offshore use. The unit is powered by an electric motor driving a gear reducer or optional two-speed gearbox and rum gearset.
A manually actuated dog is provided.
The winch is equipped with a manual hand-wheel-actuated-and-released drum brake. A direct-connected, watertight motor disc brake is rated to hold any load the motor can pull.

A manually operated mechanical clutch is provided to disconnect the drum from the drive line to allow free spooling of the drum.
