The Skagit TMW series traction winch system is specifically designed for mooring of deep water drilling vessels, pipelay & derrick barges and special hoisting & lowering applications. The TMW is composed of single, double or triple side-by-side units with storage winch.
The TMW is electrically driven through a Skagit two-speed gearbox with a water-cooled dynamic disc brake for high-speed payout of the wire rope. The traction winch is furnished |

with band-type brakes which are spring-set, air-released and designed to meet the necessary regulatory agency requirements. The units are supplied with an air-actuated pawl, which upon request, is releasable under all load conditions.
The TMW system is furnished with storage winches designedto spool the required length of wire rope. The unit is electrically driven through a water-cooled disc clutch and complete with a spring-set, air-released band-type brake. The storage winch is supplied with a levelwind.
Local controls with tension, speed and length readouts and remote emergency release command feature are standard. Remote control system available upon request.
